Match V brazil!

Well we had a tough ask in our 4th match against defending Olympic, World, Grand Champions, World Cup and World League champions. However they had just come off a shock loss to the French in their previous game. Clearly they were not playing at their best, but the question was would they play not so well again or take their anger from losing out on us!
The first set started alright, we stayed with them and were trying to use the middle a lot against them The passers were handling the jump serves well and we found ourselves 11-10 down. However Brazil then stepped it up a gear. They had obviously done there homework and were getting numerous blocks on our younger outside hitters. They continued this run and took the set to 19.
We started the second set shockingly. We couldn't seem to find the floor and found ourselves down 8-2 at the first technical. After this we steadied a little and brang it back to only be 4 points down at 16-12. However Brazil were always in control of the set, even when they made a few errors and we got within 3 there were always able to step it up a gear when it counted. 25-19 Brazil.
We started the 3rd set with a bit more of a bang with some good serves from Paul we were up 6-3. We managed to keep a few point lead for a while as our sideout game steadied. Brazil brought it back to 13-13 with some big crosscourt swings, but Dan hit some great serves to give us a 3 point lead at the technical. Brazil again stepped it up and we made a few crucial errors at the wrong time. Eventually Brazil took the lead for the first time in the set at 22-21 and even though we had a transition swing at 24-23 down we lost the set 25-23.
Dissapointing to lose 3-0 to the #1 team in the world, I thought we could of played a little better and really should of been able to hang on to that 4th set. However it was a great experience seeing this team play, and suprisingly it did not feel as if our level was that far behind theirs. It's more of a consistency factor than anything else. Tomorrow we have a big game against the Greeks, I'm really looking forward to winning this one and not finishing at the bottom of the ladder.
